Appendix B: Functional Area Documents

Water management planning in the San Francisco Bay Area is inherently regional, as the Bay  Area spans multiple geographic and jurisdictional definitions.  The agencies participating in  development of this Water Supply and Water Quality Functional Area Document are water  management planning agencies that have been working with public agencies and stakeholder  groups in their service areas to develop regional integrated water management plans to  improve water supply reliability, protect water quality and achieve multiple benefits.  This  Functional Area Document is a Bay Area-wide planning effort that aims to integrate the water  management planning efforts of the following agencies:

  • Alameda County Water District (ACWD);
  • Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA);
  • Contra Costa Water District (CCWD);
