The Contra Costa County Public Works Department provides for the planning, construction, maintenance, and improvement of infrastructure within the unincorporated area of the County. It also is the umbrella managing entity for and the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. These are separate legal entities, but were merged to provide efficiency in management, staffing, and communication with Public works.
