Flood Protection & Stormwater Management

The Flood Protection-Stormwater Management (FP-SM) functional area addresses regional issues in management of flood- and storm waters. Bay Area storm management and flood control agencies (Alameda County Public Works Agency, Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Santa Clara Valley Water District, Sonoma County Water Agency, Zone 7 Water Agency, and the County of San Mateo Public Works Department) are taking the lead in preparing this document.

The goal is to identify and address the major flood protection and stormwater management objectives and issues for the watersheds in the region. The document identifies opportunities for regional efficiencies that may be achieved by working collaboratively towards multi-benefit, multi-beneficiary management of resources.
